Privacy and Security
The Village is committed to maintaining User’s online privacy. The Village may collect information about User’s visit to the Village’s website. The Village collects this information to help make the Village’s website more useful.
During User’s visit to the Village’s website, User may choose to participate in a survey, send an email, or perform a financial or business transaction online. To complete such a transaction, the User may be asked to provide personal information, such as: name, address, phone number, date of birth, credit card number or payment account. The User retains the option to decline participation in any activity, task or transaction that asks for personal information. Choosing not to participate will in no way affect User’s ability to browse, read or download information on the Village’s website.
Information provided for a transaction is used only for the purpose of completing and recording the transaction. In all cases, the Village strives to collect the minimum information necessary to comply with applicable law or provide the service requested. The Village contracts with third parties to provide internet related services or financial transactions. User is advised to review each third party’s specific privacy policy and terms and conditions of use on each third party’s website. If User finds any term, condition, policy, or practice unacceptable, User should terminate the transaction and obtain the internet related service or undertake the financial transaction with the Village directly.
The Village does not sell or otherwise distribute User information, including electronic mail addresses, to any outside company or organization, unless legally required to do so. This applies to information that may be collected on the Village's website but NOT on any third party’s website with whom the Village contracts to provide internet related services or financial transactions. The Village will take reasonable precautions to safeguard the confidentiality of such information but may NOT be held liable for any injury caused by the disclosure of that information, whether caused by security breach, accident, inadvertence, third party policies or procedures or any other act resulting in disclosure.
Security measures have been designed and intended to prevent corruption of data, block unknown or unauthorized access to the Village’s systems and information, and to provide reasonable protection of private information in the Village’s possession. These measures should not be construed in any way as giving business, legal, or other advice, or warranting as fail proof the security of information provided to the Village’s website.
